Low Iron Laminated Glass is made by permanently bonding two lites of 10mm low iron tempered glass together with a polymeric interlayer sheet using a process that involves exposure to cycles of heat and pressure within a specialized autoclave chamber. More than ever, laminated glass products are being used in various types of building construction applications serving as durable, ultra clear fenestration and building interior material options that offer the benefits of daylighting and unobstructed views while also meeting building code standard requirements for safety glazing applications. Laminated glass is effective at reducing the probability of injury. Similar to what you see in a windshield when laminated glass sustains an impact, the adhesion of ruptured glass to the interlayer material prevents the glass from shattering and becoming potentially-lethal projectiles, and it often results in the glass being safely retained within a framing or channel system.
