The polyamide strip is a mouldable composite material. Its fibers are oriented in all three dimensions to ensure appropriate strength. As such, manufacturers can use these strips across all types of fenestration, including oversized and impact-resistant systems. Therefore, polyamide thermal barriers are the best for thermal break windows.
There are many different materials to produce thermal break strips, such as PA66 GF25%, ASA, ABS, PVC. Among them, polyamide material is the most popular material for thermal break. The coefficient of linear thermal expansion (linear elongation coefficient) of the polyamide profiles is equivalent to the aluminum profile. Secondly, the deflection temperature of the polyamide profiles under load is high. Even at 200° C for about 15 minutes, no deformation occurs. Therefore, it can easily be heated in the ovens at the powder coating process.
Thirdly, polyamide profiles do not emit toxic gases in case of fire. They are environmentally friendly.
