Description of TDS
Top drive is a key component that combines the functionality of rotary drill pipe and kelly drilling systems. Compared with the kelly drilling system, it has many advantages, such as a larger drill pipe control height and a higher safety factor in complex wellbore conditions; three times the drilling capacity, resulting in shorter connection time and higher drilling efficiency; and longer reaming and post-reaming heights to increase safety when dealing with complex conditions downhole.
