1)Descriptions of Worm Gear Set
The worm gear set is a common power transmission device, consisting of a worm gear (spiral gear) and a turbine (bevel gear). It is usually used in scenarios requiring a large reduction ratio and high torque transmission. Its features include a compact structure, smooth transmission, and the ability to achieve self-locking functionality (preventing reverse drive).
2)Characteristics of Worm Gear Set
a)High reduction ratio: A single-stage transmission can achieve a reduction ratio of 5:1 to 100:1, suitable for low-speed high-torque applications.
b)Self-locking feature: When the helix angle of the worm is small, the turbine cannot drive the worm in reverse, suitable for occasions requiring anti-reversal (such as elevators, winches).
c)Compact design: Compared with gear reduction boxes, the turbine-hub gear set occupies less space and is suitable for mechanical equipment with limited installation space.
