The SINOTRUK HOWO WG2229100047 PTO Shaft Hole Cover Plate and WG2229100048 Cover Plate Gasket are matching components used at the reserved Power Take-Off interface of heavy-duty truck transmissions. The cover plate closes the PTO mounting opening when an auxiliary PTO unit is not installed, while the gasket is positioned between the plate and transmission housing to create the required sealing interface. In the HW19710/HW19710T transmission, these components are associated with the range-gear/sub-gearbox assembly and work together with the corresponding fastening hardware to maintain a closed and properly sealed transmission housing. During vehicle operation, the cover plate remains fixed to the gearbox housing while the gasket helps accommodate the contact surface between the plate and housing, reducing the possibility of lubricant escaping through the unused PTO opening. Possible signs include oil seepage around the cover plate, visible gasket deterioration, a flattened or damaged gasket, or leakage that appears after transmission maintenance. The cover plate and surrounding sealing surface should also be inspected before replacing the gasket.
Reuse is generally not recommended when the gasket has already been compressed or shows visible damage. During gearbox maintenance, the sealing condition should be assessed and a new gasket used when the original no longer provides a reliable sealing interface.
