Welding galvanized strip produces zinc vapor that contaminates the weld, leaves black seams and porosity, and coats nearby parts with zinc oxide dust, degrading weld strength and appearance.
Zinc melts and vaporizes well below steel's welding temperature, so the zinc coating on the strip edges vaporizes during HF welding and can be trapped in the molten pool, causing porosity and weak seams.
The ZY16 keeps weld heat tight and localized with the 100kW solid-state HF welder, minimizing zinc vapor generation at the seam. Controlled edge alignment and speed-matched power limit coating burn-back so the GI surface stays intact outside the narrow weld line, and fume extraction at the weld station removes zinc vapor for operator safety.
