Q: What is 20CrMnTi steel?
A: 20CrMnTi is a Chinese standard low-carbon alloy case-hardening steel. It is the standard material for automotive transmission gears in China, equivalent to DIN 20MnCr5 and offering excellent carburizing response and core toughness.
Q: What is effective case depth?
A: Effective case depth is the depth at which hardness drops to HRC 50 (or 550 HV). Our standard effective case depth is 0.8-1.2mm for automotive gears, verified by microhardness traverse on every heat treatment batch.
Q: Do you also machine the gear teeth?
A: We supply gear blanks (turned and heat-treated) ready for gear hobbing/grinding. We can also provide fully finished gears with tooth grinding per DIN 3962 quality class 6-7.
