This product is the modular screw segment, a core component of co-rotating twin-screw extruders. As the key part for material conveying, shearing, and mixing, it precisely matches with the barrel and shaft to form a complete extrusion system. It is widely used in production lines for plastic modification, filler masterbatch, glass fiber reinforcement, and functional masterbatch.
Equipped with a high-precision splined inner bore for shaft connection, the external thread forms a self-cleaning meshing structure with the mating screw element. This eliminates material residue and dead zones, ensuring stable material conveying and efficient mixing.
Made of nitrided alloy steel or bimetallic material with surface hardening treatment (nitriding / hardfacing alloy), it exhibits excellent wear and corrosion resistance. It is compatible with highly abrasive materials such as high-filled calcium carbonate, glass fiber, and carbon black, significantly extending service life.
Screw segments with different leads and types (conveying, shearing, mixing) can be freely combined according to process requirements. This allows flexible adjustment of material residence time, shear strength, and mixing effect, and is compatible with extruders with L/D ratios ranging from 32:1 to 48:1.
Strict control over thread profile, meshing clearance, and spline precision ensures uniform clearance with the barrel and mating screw. This minimizes material backflow, improving extrusion stability and production efficiency.
