Uchi ELECTRIC porcelain single column arresters with line discharge classes from 2 to 5, are available up through 500 kV systems for protection of power equipment and apparatus from lightning and switching over voltages. The design consists of porcelain housing available in Gray or Brown, which conforms to IEC 60.815 with an Aero Dynamic shed profile. The ZnO varistors, spacers and locating rings are assembled under compression with pressure relief diaphragms at either end. The air void is evacuated and replaced with dry air, then sealed. System seal is evaluated during the routine tests using a vacuum chamber. All ranges of single column porcelain arresters have been tested in accordance to the IEC 60099-4 standard. Type tests have been carried out and demonstrate high energy handling and high pollution performance.
