The cold forging process not only shapes the physical form of the heat sink, but also optimizes the performance of the material from a microscopic level.
High-purity aluminum (AL1050 / AL1070): These grades of aluminum alloys have excellent thermal conductivity. Through cold forging, the internal grain structure is refined and stretched along the direction of heat flow, further improving the anisotropic thermal conductivity of the material, making it perform better in heat dissipation applications.
Copper (C11000): Copper is one of the best known engineering metals for thermal conductivity. Cold forged copper heat sinks take advantage of copper's thermal conductivity, making them particularly useful in applications where extreme heat dissipation is required and space is limited. The cold forging process also increases the mechanical strength of copper, making it reliable and stable under high heat loads.
No interface thermal resistance: This is the core advantage of cold forged heat sinks. Since the substrate and fins are integrally formed, there is no bonding layer or mechanical contact surface on the heat transfer path, which fundamentally eliminates the interface thermal resistance and ensures efficient and seamless transfer of heat from the heat source to the heat sink. This is critical for the long-term stable operation of high-power devices.
