Properly manufactured, this insulation withstands breakdown voltages exceeding 6,000V in standard builds and can surpass 10,000V in multi-layer configurations.

High-Frequency Transformers
SMPS and power inverter transformers operating at tens or hundreds of kilohertz benefit from the Class 180 rating of Kapton insulation, which significantly extends service life by reducing hot-spot temperatures and preventing unplanned shutdowns.
