Description:
Ultrasonic welding transducer is one of Altra's main products, which uses the piezoelectric effect to realize the conversion between electrical energy and sound energy.
Ultrasonic transducers and ultrasonic transducers are the same thing. One ultrasound OEM, Dukane Corporation, uses the term "transducer". All other ultrasonic OEM manufacturers such as Branson, Sonics and Materials, Rinco, Telesonics and Herrmann refer to them as transducers or converters.
Either a transducer or a sensor does the same thing...converts electrical energy into mechanical motion...so we introduce an electrical charge into the ceramic surface at the desired frequency, which in turn gives us motion or vibration at the working end of the transducer.
The transducer is connected to a booster that increases, decreases or simply transfers the amount of movement from the face of the transducer to what we call a horn or Sonotrode.
