Q1: Why should I choose NBR over Natural Rubber for my pipe wipers?
A: While Natural Rubber is excellent for water-based fluids, it fails quickly when in contact with oil. NBR (Nitrile) is essential if you are using oil-based muds (OBM) or if the well contains hydrocarbons, as it prevents the wiper from swelling and losing its sealing shape.
Q2: Can these NBR wipers withstand high-temperature drilling?
A: Our standard NBR wipers are rated up to 120°C (248°F). For HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) wells, please contact us for our HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) options, which can handle even higher thermal loads and H2S exposure.
