The linear voice coil motor features a built-in drive shaft design and integrated precision linear bearings, providing precise guidance and reducing friction over a stroke range of up to 56.3 mm. It features a lightweight armature coil with fast response times and high frequency capabilities, while the drive shaft is made of lightweight, high-stiffness, and wear-resistant materials.
Smooth, precise, and wide-stroke linear motion is critical in large optical systems such as Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometers, terahertz imaging systems, and multi-axis laser scanning platforms. The VCAB0087-0563-00A features a direct-drive, backlash-free design that ensures scanning motion does not introduce artifacts due to mechanical clearance or friction, thereby maintaining measurement integrity and signal-to-noise ratio. Its 56.3 mm stroke accommodates significant variations in optical path length, enabling broad spectral coverage or deep imaging penetration.
Compared to lead screw- or belt-driven scanning platforms, this linear voice coil motor offers fundamental advantages: no backlash, no mechanical wear caused by threads or belts, a smooth velocity curve free of cogging effects, and higher dynamic bandwidth suitable for high-speed scanning applications. The direct-drive mechanism simplifies control and calibration while eliminating the need for periodic maintenance associated with wear-prone components.
This linear voice coil motor is also ideally suited for large-format 3D scanning, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), and long-stroke precision positioning platforms that require long strokes and high accuracy.
