Recover remaining refrigerant using an A/C machine. Evacuate the system (vacuum for 30+ minutes to remove moisture and air).
Step 3: Compressor Removal
Discharge refrigerant safely. Remove the serpentine belt and unbolt the compressor. Drain and measure old oil (replace with correct PAG/ester oil type).
Step 4: Replacement/Repair
Install new or rebuilt compressor (ensure correct model compatibility). Replace the receiver-drier/accumulator and expansion valve. Lubricate O-rings with A/C oil before reassembly.
Step 5: Recharge & Testing
Recharge with correct refrigerant amount (check vehicle specifications). Test for leaks and verify clutch engagement. Check vent temperatures (should be 8-12°C / 45-55°F at maximum cooling).
