The Voltertech BESS-5MWH-W is a high-voltage 5MWh LiFePO4 battery container designed for large hybrid solar and solar-plus-storage projects. It provides high-capacity DC energy storage that can be integrated with compatible PV, PCS and EMS equipment according to project power, discharge duration and grid requirements.
Large photovoltaic plants do not always produce energy at the same time it is required by the grid or local loads. Adding battery storage allows part of the available solar generation to be stored and dispatched according to the project's operating strategy.
The BESS-5MWH-W acts as the high-capacity battery block within this architecture and can be combined with suitable power conversion and energy management equipment.

In a hybrid solar architecture, PV generation, battery storage, PCS and EMS are coordinated according to the required operating strategy. The battery can store available electrical energy and release it during selected periods when the project requires additional flexibility.
A 5MWh battery rating describes energy capacity, not the AC power output of the complete system. The required PCS power should therefore be selected according to the project's desired MW rating and operating duration.
For example, projects with different discharge-duration targets may use different PCS configurations even when the battery capacity remains 5MWh. Final sizing should consider PV capacity, grid connection, duty cycle and usable energy requirements.
Liquid cooling manages battery temperature across the container during charging and discharging. For a high-capacity battery block, stable thermal management is important for maintaining consistent operation across battery modules.
The system also supports LAN, RS485 and CAN communication for connection with compatible monitoring, PCS and energy management platforms.
5MWh refers to the amount of electrical energy the battery system can store. It does not by itself define the system's MW power output, which depends on the selected PCS and project design.
PCS power should be selected according to the required MW output, discharge duration, grid connection and operating strategy. The BESS-5MWH-W is supplied with PCS as an optional project configuration.
