Detailed Description:
The expansion valve is an important part of the refrigeration system and is usually installed between the liquid storage cylinder and the evaporator. The expansion valve allows the medium temperature, high pressure liquid refrigerant to be throttled through it into a low temperature, low pressure wet vapour, the refrigerant then absorbs heat in the evaporator to achieve cooling. The expansion valve controls the valve flow rate by changing the superheat at the end of the evaporator to prevent under-utilisation of the evaporator area and cylinder bursts.
The thermal expansion valve is installed at the inlet of the evaporator and is often referred to as the expansion valve. It has two main functions:
1) Control the flow rate of refrigerant: The liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator evaporates into a gaseous state after passing through the evaporator, absorbing heat and reducing the temperature inside the car. The expansion valve controls the flow of refrigerant to ensure that the outlet of the evaporator is completely gaseous refrigerant. If the flow rate is too high and the outlet contains liquid refrigerant, it may enter the compressor and cause liquid hammer; If the refrigerant flow rate is too low, evaporation is completed early, resulting in insufficient cooling
2) Throttling effect: The high-temperature and high-pressure liquid refrigerant is blocked by the orifice of the expansion valve, becoming a low-temperature and low-pressure mist like liquid refrigerant, creating conditions for the evaporation of the refrigerant
