24V Emergency Power Supply for Public Address & Voice Alarm Systems
The 24V emergency power supply is a dedicated backup and changeover unit for public address, voice alarm and emergency evacuation systems. Built into a slim 19-inch 1U chassis measuring 485 x 420 x 44 mm, it keeps critical 24V DC equipment running when the mains supply fails and switches the system into alarm mode as soon as an emergency signal arrives. It is a compact, cost-effective answer to the question every PA contractor asks: what powers the loudspeakers.
when the power goes down?
Triggering is flexible. The unit offers one 24V trigger input and one general dry contact trigger input, so a fire alarm panel, emergency microphone, timer or any third-party control relay can activate it without extra interface hardware. When an alarm is activated, the unit triggers two channels of 24V forced switch power output with a rated current of 6A, providing enough headroom to drive amplifiers, zone selectors and paging consoles at the same time.
During a power outage, the same unit acts as an automatic changeover device, transferring connected 24V DC equipment onto battery power with no manual intervention. One battery input accepts a standard 24V battery set, while one regular 24V output supplies continuous power to the system under normal conditions.
This design gives installers a single box that handles both everyday power distribution and emergency backup.
Status is always visible. Dedicated indicator lights show forced switch power status and battery input status, so engineers can confirm at a glance that the emergency power supply is armed, charging and ready during routine maintenance and commissioning.
Typical applications include shopping malls, schools, hospitals, hotels, factories, office towers, metro stations and transport hubs where reliable 24V emergency power supply for PA and evacuation systems is mandatory. Paired with the VOXPA ID-1212 zone selector and desktop paging console, it completes a fully integrated public address power solution.
