Octo = 8 outputs.
It contains 8 separate LNBs and 8 separate output ports in one housing. Each port can be connected to a separate satellite receiver (set-top box).
This allows a single dish to feed up to 8 different TVs/receivers, each watching different channels from the same satellite simultaneously. There's no need for complex multiswitches with this type of LNBF.
Function: It's the "eye and ear" of your satellite dish system.
It collects the extremely weak microwave signals reflected by the satellite dish.
It amplifies those weak signals.
It converts (or "down-converts") the high Ku-band frequencies (10-12 GHz) to a lower, more manageable Intermediate Frequency (IF) range (950-2150 MHz) that can travel efficiently through coaxial cable to your receivers.
Internal Setup: Think of it as eight identical "Universal" LNBs sharing a single feed horn and housing, all pointing at the exact same satellite. They are electrically isolated from each other.
Multi-Room/Multi-TV Households: The most common use. One dish on the roof can serve up to 8 separate boxes in different rooms without interfering with each other.
Small Apartments or MDUs (Multi-Dwelling Units): Can be used to distribute a satellite signal to several different units from a single dish.
Fixed Dish Setups: It's designed for a dish that is permanently pointed at one specific satellite orbital position (e.g., 19.2°E Astra or 13°E Hotbird). It is NOT for dishes that electronically switch between satellites (like DiSEqC 1.2 switches), though it can be used on a motorized dish if you only want to watch from one satellite at a time across all receivers (rare setup).
A Ku Band Universal OCTO LNBF is an 8-output, all-in-one signal collector and converter designed for a fixed satellite dish to provide independent satellite TV signals to up to 8 different set-top boxes in a home or building. It's the go-to solution for larger households that want simplicity and cost-effectiveness when receiving channels from a single satellite position.
