Threat: 5G IMT @ 3.5 GHz (e.g., 3.4-3.8 GHz band).
Guard Band: 100 MHz between the 5G band and your satellite C-Band (3.7-4.2 GHz). This is a small but helpful frequency separation.
5G Power at LNB Input: -30 dBm. This is a very strong signal for a receiver input. A typical satellite signal at the LNB input might be -90 to -110 dBm. A -30 dBm interfering signal is ~60-80 dB stronger than the desired signal.
LNB Response: No gain, no intermodulation, no saturation. This is the ultimate test of a filter's performance. It means:
The filtering is so effective that the 5G signal is attenuated to a level below the LNB's noise floor, so it contributes no measurable increase in system noise temperature (No ΔG).
The linearity of the LNB's first-stage amplifier (typically a GaAs HEMT) is preserved because the interfering signal is so weak at that point that it never drives the amplifier into its non-linear region (No intermodulation, no saturation).
