A screw conveyor is a mechanical device that uses rotating spiral blades to continuously transport materials along a material trough. Widely used in agriculture, mining, building materials, and grain industries, it consists of components such as a drive unit, screw shaft, blades, material trough, and inlet/outlet ports.
Working Principle
The screw conveyor is driven by a motor to rotate the screw shaft and blades. The friction between blades and materials, along with axial thrust, conveys materials while the fixed trough prevents material rotation. This forces axial discharge at the outlet, making it ideal for granular and powdered materials.
