Application Guide
  • Apply the wiping stain and wipe off excess within 10 minutes
  • Recoat with sealer or topcoat 30 minutes after wiping
  • Keep the stain agitated during use to maintain colour uniformity. Final colour depends on wood species and sanding; always test on the actual substrate

Will this coating make my wood look artificial or plastic-like?
No. GRAIN-PRO-800 amplifies the natural grain without building a thick plastic-looking film. The result is wood that looks richer and deeper—not coated in plastic. We specifically engineered it to avoid the "plastic wrap" look of some polyurethane coatings.
Which wood species benefit most from grain enhancement?
Open-grain hardwoods (oak, ash, mahogany, walnut) show the most dramatic transformation. Closed-grain woods (maple, cherry, birch) show subtle but noticeable deepening.
Can I use this over stained wood?
Absolutely. GRAIN-PRO-800 is compatible with water-based and solvent-based wood stains. Always ensure the stain is fully dry before coating.
What is the difference between water-based and oil-based wiping stains?
Water-based stains use water as a solvent—eco-friendly, non-flammable, odour-free, and non-yellowing. Oil-based stains contain organic solvents, which can cause pollution and strong odours.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. Special outdoor-grade formulations are available with suitable pigments, offering medium to opaque transparency.
Can I correct the colour if I am not satisfied after wiping?
Yes. There are re-colouring grades designed for easy adjustment; you can re-apply and wipe multiple times to achieve the desired tone.
Can it be used with oil-based primers/topcoats?
Yes. Special formulations are compatible with oil-based undercoats and topcoats, with no reaction and good stability.
Can the colour be custom-made?
