Sumarry

  This large format decal sheet is 390*540mm. The unique, realistic honeycomb pattern fills the page and allows for great flexibility for your surface design needs. Available in various colors, both luster and non-metallic.

   Patterns allow artists to cut and apply in any shape you wish! Use multiple colors for layering or collage effects! Fire as per instructions included with purchase. This design looks *great* layered with our Vintage Bee design.

  The decals can be used with ceramic, porcelain, fusing glass and enamel. These decals are foodsafe and lead-free.

Instruction

1.  Clean the surface of your piece with alcohol and a clean cloth.
2.  Cut out your image as close to the edges as possible. Try to make curved rather than angled comers and edges. Sharp edges can cause the decal to lift up.
3.  Fill a shallow bottomed pan or tray with warm water. Soak the decal for 5-10 seconds, or until the cover coat and image begin to separate from the paper.
4.  Moisten the ceramic surface where the decal will go with a wet sponge. This helps you position your decal without wrinkling or tearing it.
5.  GENTLY slide the decal into position on your piece, carefully smoothing it from the center outward, with a small sponge,soft rubber rib, or rubber brayer. This forces all the water and air bubbles out from beneath the decal. Check to make sure there are no air bubbles or edges that won't stick. If the decal is not in complete contact with the surface, it will disappear in the firing. If you need to reposition the decal, flood it with a little water first.
6.  Let the decal dry overnight.

After firing, the decals have pinholes and blowouts. What happened?

  These holes come from water or air bubbles that have remained underneath the decal and burst through it once they expand in the kiln. A more careful decoration and drying period before firing should help. Use a rubber/ silicone tool to chase all the air and water out; a squeegee is best, but a silicone kitchen spatula will also work in a pinch.

  Be sure to wipe your work clean and dry with a lint free cloth before firing. You also may want to consider letting the decal air dry for several hours. A close inspection under a light after the drying period should reveal any visible bubbles before putting it in the kiln. You may be able to pop the bubbles by using a clean, thin needle to pierce the bubbles; subsequently use a piece of paper towel moistened with hot water to gently reapply the decal in that area. Inspect the decorated ware carefully for any remaining trapped air or water.

  To prevent pinholes, we have found it helpful to slow the firing down especially below 500F.

  Normally we will use the stander export carton to make sure the goods is not damaged, we put 100 sheets for one pack.
