Causes of foam in natural gas exploitation
In the process of natural gas exploitation, foam is usually produced because natural gas contains carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and other gases, which are dissolved in natural gas under high pressure. When natural gas is released to a lower pressure environment, these gases begin to form bubbles and may further aggregate into foam. In addition, the change of formation pressure, liquid flow, chemical reaction and other factors may also lead to the production of foam.

Impact of foam on mining
Reduced production efficiency: foam will occupy the space of pipelines and equipment, reduce the effective flow area of natural gas, and thus reduce the production efficiency.
Damage to equipment: foam may corrode or block the mining equipment, increasing the failure rate and maintenance cost of equipment.
Potential safety hazard: the accumulation of foam may cause safety accidents, such as explosion or fire.

The function of defoamers
-Destroy the surface tension of foam: Defoamer can destroy the surface tension of foam, causing bubbles to burst and release the gas therein.
-Reduce the stability of foam: Defoamers can effectively reduce the stability of foam and prevent further formation and accumulation of foam.
-Improve the production efficiency: By eliminating foam, defoamers can ensure the smooth process of natural gas production and improve the production efficiency.
