Working principle:
Due to the pressure changes that occur on the turbine blades, a portion of the energy is released by the fluid, quantified by an expression for the degree of reaction, while the remainder is extracted by the volute of the turbine. At the outlet, the water acts on the rotating cup runner and exits at low velocity and low eddy, leaving little kinetic or potential energy behind. The shape of the turbine outlet pipe is more helpful in slowing down the water flow and restoring the pressure.
