Product Description

Elacera rubber ceramic liners combine alumina ceramic, impact-absorbing rubber, and steel backing to protect mining chutes, hoppers, and transfer points.

Rubber Ceramic Liners for Mining Transfer Chutes

Elacera rubber ceramic liners are designed to protect mining transfer chutes, hoppers, bins, and other bulk material handling equipment from severe impact and sliding abrasion.

The liner combines high-hardness alumina ceramic with impact-absorbing rubber. For heavy-duty applications, a steel backing plate with mounting studs or bolts can be added to form a three-in-one ceramic-rubber-steel structure.

This composite design provides a hard-wear surface while cushioning the impact of ore, coal, clinker, and other abrasive bulk materials.

Why Do Mining Transfer Chutes Wear So Quickly?

Transfer chutes are continuously exposed to falling material, changing flow direction, and high-speed sliding abrasion. The most serious wear usually occurs at feed points, chute bottoms, corners, and material impact zones.

Ordinary steel liners may gradually become thinner, while ceramic tiles without an impact-absorbing layer may be vulnerable under heavy material impact.

Rubber ceramic composite liners address both problems:

  • Alumina ceramic resists abrasion.
  • Rubber absorbs impact and vibration.
  • Steel backing provides structural support.
  • Bolted installation makes individual panels easier to replace.

Composite Liner Structure

Alumina Ceramic Wear Layer

High-hardness alumina ceramic forms the primary wear surface. Cylindrical ceramic elements are embedded in rubber to distribute impact and reduce the risk of localized ceramic damage.

Square or rectangular ceramic tiles are also available for applications dominated by sliding abrasion.

Impact-Absorbing Rubber Layer

The rubber layer cushions material impact, reduces vibration, and supports the ceramic elements. Rubber thickness and formulation can be selected according to the impact level and operating temperature.

Steel Backing Plate

For three-in-one liners, the steel backing plate is supplied with welded studs or mounting bolts. This structure is suitable for severe-duty chutes where secure mechanical installation and modular replacement are required.

Main Advantages

  • Combined resistance to impact and sliding abrasion
  • High-hardness ceramic wear surface
  • Rubber cushioning for impact and vibration
  • Secure bolt-on installation
  • Modular replacement of individual panels
  • Reduced direct wear on the equipment shell
  • Customized panel geometry for irregular chute surfaces
  • Suitable for wet, dry, and abrasive bulk material handling

Typical Applications

Rubber ceramic liners are widely used in:

  • Mining transfer chutes
  • Ore hoppers and bins
  • Crusher discharge chutes
  • Coal handling systems
  • Mineral processing plants
  • Cement plant transfer points
  • Steel mill material handling equipment
  • Power plant coal chutes
  • Port bulk material terminals

Cylindrical Ceramic or Square Ceramic?

Cylindrical ceramic liners are recommended for areas exposed to both heavy impact and abrasion. The individual ceramic cylinders are surrounded by rubber, allowing the composite liner to absorb impact more effectively.

Square or rectangular ceramic tiles provide a larger continuous ceramic surface and are suitable for areas where sliding abrasion is more severe than direct impact.

Different structures can be combined in one chute according to the wear distribution.

Installation Options

Two-in-one ceramic rubber liners can be bonded directly to a prepared steel surface using a suitable industrial adhesive.

Three-in-one liners are mechanically fixed through the steel backing plate and mounting bolts. This option is suitable for larger panels, high-impact conditions, and applications requiring easier future replacement.

Before installation, the equipment surface should be cleaned, inspected, and prepared to ensure proper contact and secure fixing.

Quality Inspection

Before delivery, Elacera liners can be inspected for:

  • Ceramic material and surface quality
  • Panel dimensions and overall thickness
  • Rubber vulcanization quality
  • Ceramic-to-rubber bonding
  • Steel backing plate dimensions
  • Bolt position and thread condition
  • Panel flatness and edge condition
  • Packing and product identification

Packaging and Delivery

Rubber ceramic composite liners are packed on reinforced wooden pallets or in wooden cases. Protective materials are placed between panels to prevent damage during handling and international transportation.

Custom packing and product labels can be provided according to project requirements.

Information Required for Selection

To recommend a suitable liner structure, please provide:

  • Equipment drawings or internal dimensions
  • Material being handled
  • Particle size and hardness
  • Drop height and impact direction
  • Material throughput
  • Operating temperature
  • Wet or dry conditions
  • Existing liner material and service condition
  • Installation method preferred

FAQ

1. What is the difference between two-in-one and three-in-one liners?

Two-in-one liners consist of ceramic and rubber and are normally installed with adhesive. Three-in-one liners include an additional steel backing plate and are normally installed with bolts.

2. Are cylindrical ceramic liners suitable for high-impact areas?

Yes. Cylindrical ceramic elements embedded in rubber are suitable for areas exposed to combined impact and abrasion because the surrounding rubber helps cushion material impact.

3. Can the panel size and bolt positions be customized?

Yes. Panel dimensions, total thickness, ceramic arrangement, and mounting bolt positions can be manufactured according to equipment drawings.

4. Is 92% or 95% alumina recommended?

Both grades provide good wear resistance. The selection depends on the abrasive material, operating conditions and project budget. ZTA ceramic can also be considered for more demanding impact conditions.

5. Can different liner structures be used in the same chute?

Yes. High-impact zones can use cylindrical rubber ceramic liners, while sliding wear zones can use square ceramic composite liners.

6. How are damaged panels replaced?

With the bolt-on design, individual panels can be removed and replaced without replacing the complete chute lining.

7. Can these liners be used in wet conditions?

Yes, but the rubber formulation, steel protection, and installation method should be selected according to the moisture and chemical conditions.

8. How can I obtain a quotation?

Please send the equipment drawing, liner dimensions, operating conditions, and required quantity to our engineering team.
