Functions
AC/DC Conversion (Rectification/Inversion):
Charging (AC → DC): In instances of surplus power from the grid or AC power produced by a PV inverter, the PCS transforms it into DC electricity for storage in batteries through a process known as rectification.
Discharging (DC → AC): When power is required, the PCS changes DC power from the batteries into AC power which can then be supplied to the grid or to electrical loads. This process is referred to as inversion.
Grid-Tied and Off-Grid Operation: The PCS allows the energy storage system to seamlessly transition between grid-tied mode (connected to the grid) and off-grid mode (operating independently, such as in a microgrid) based on requirements.
