A natural lapis lazuli bracelet strung from 8mm round polished beads. A deep royal blue stone, often flecked with gold coloured pyrite, and one of the most recognisable blues in gemstone work.
Lapis lazuli has been worked into ornament for thousands of years and is still prized for the depth of its blue, which no dyed stone imitates well. This bracelet uses 8mm round lapis beads with a polished surface that shows the natural mix of deep blue, lighter calcite cloud and small gold coloured pyrite flecks. That mixture is what makes lapis recognisable, so the strand is deliberately not colour graded to a flat uniform blue. Strung on reinforced elastic with no clasp. Each strand is graded by hand so the blue reads evenly from bead to bead.
The stone is selected for strong blue saturation with visible pyrite, then drilled and polished in small batches. Beads are checked for cracks around the drill hole and the strand is double knotted.
A higher value stone that lifts the average order in a crystal range, and a natural fit for retailers whose customers already buy amethyst and rose quartz and are looking for something with more colour.
Q: Is the gold fleck real?
Yes, the gold coloured inclusions are natural pyrite within the lapis, not applied decoration.
Q: Why is the blue not perfectly even?
Lapis naturally contains calcite and pyrite, so tone varies between beads. This is a sign of natural stone.
Q: Is a higher grade available?
Yes, a deeper blue grade with less calcite can be quoted on request.
