Application
ACSR – The full name: Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced. Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced is used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.
STANDARD
Basic design to BS 215-2 / BS EN 50182 / IEC 61089 / ASTM B 232/B 232M / DIN 48204 / JIS C 3110 standards.
FEATURES
ACSR fox conductor strands 6 aluminums and 1 steel. But their diameter is the same, and they are 2.79 mm. We can know the overall diameter is 8.37 mm. From the standard, we can know the nominal aluminum area of acsr fox conductor is 35 mm2. When you want to buy acsr fox conductor, you should pay attention to this point. It isn’t suitable for the standard, and it is reasonable. The total sectional area is 42.77 mm2. After the cabling, the total linear mass is 149kg/km.
Through the test, the calculated breaking load should be 1320daN. At the 20℃, calculate D.C. resistance should be 0.7822.
CONSTRUCTION
A “DOG” conductor is a ACSR (aluminum conductor steel reinforced) cable with nominal aluminum cross-sectional area of 100 mm². It has 6 aluminum strands of 4.72 mm diameter and 7 steel strands of 1.57 mm diameter.ACSR dog conductor has a long service record because of its economy, dependability, and strength to weight ratio. The combined light weight and high conductivity of aluminum with strength of the steel core enables higher tensions, less sag, and longer spans than any alternative.
