Sodium sulfite is a white crystalline inorganic salt with stable physical properties at room temperature. It dissolves quickly in water to form a clear solution with weak alkalinity. The product has mild and controllable reducibility, capable of removing residual chlorine and dissolved oxygen in water. It is non toxic and low corrosive, with stable reaction performance during industrial use. It will be gradually oxidized to sodium sulfate when exposed to air, and reacts with acid to release sulfur dioxide gas.
In water treatment, it serves as oxygen scavenger and dechlorinating agent to purify industrial circulating water and boiler water. In textile and paper industry, it acts as gentle bleaching agent to protect fiber and paper texture.
