Working Principle

The workpiece is placed between two water-cooled copper electrodes. A pneumatic cylinder drives the upper electrode down with a preset pressure, creating low-resistance contact at the joint. A heavy alternating current, delivered through a high-permeability transformer, flows across the contact point and generates localized resistance heat. When the metal reaches its plastic temperature, the applied force forges the surfaces together into a coherent weld nugget. Can this machine weld copper wire to a copper terminal reliably?
