XHXC110 Transformer Demagnetizer is a dedicated instrument for eliminating residual magnetism in large power transformers and instrument transformers after DC resistance or turns ratio testing. Because of the inherent hysteresis of ferromagnetic materials, such tests leave residual magnetism in the transformer core, which saturates the core during energization, generates heavy harmonics in the excitation current, increases reactive power consumption, and may trigger relay protection misoperation. The XHXC110 adopts a patented DC frequency conversion attenuation principle to fully remove this residual magnetism before commissioning, ensuring safe and reliable transformer energization.
Who It Is Built For
Engineered for field commissioning and testing service teams, EPC contractors, transformer manufacturers, and high-voltage test institutes — not just in-house substation operators. At only 5 kg it is easy to carry between sites; its sub-4-minute demagnetization cycles maximize throughput on tight commissioning schedules; and its simplified two-button operation requires no extensive training. The demagnetizing output reuses the current leads already used for DC resistance testing, so field crews avoid re-wiring between test stages and finish commissioning faster.

Key Performance Features
Patented DC frequency conversion attenuation principle — current amplitude decreases periodically and polarity alternates periodically, progressively shrinking the hysteresis loop to cancel residual magnetism.
Phase-B demagnetization — three-phase transformers are fully demagnetized by demagnetizing phase B only, simplifying procedures.
Automatic current stabilization judgment with 16-bit AD data acquisition and processing for repeatable, high-precision results.
Manual and automatic demagnetization modes — automatic mode sequences through 10A, 5A, 1A, 500mA, 200mA until progress reaches 100%, then discharges automatically.
Fast demagnetization — reduced from 30 minutes to no more than 4 minutes per cycle.
Significant demagnetization effect — improved from 80% to over 90% per cycle.
Reuses DC resistance test current leads for convenient integration with existing test workflows.
Chinese interface with real-time progress display — clear, intuitive operation.
Suitable for 35 kV and above large power transformers and instrument transformers, especially 330 kV and above large-capacity transformers.
Compact and lightweight — ideal for field use.
Working Principle
The XHXC110 applies the DC attenuation frequency conversion method: the demagnetizing current amplitude decreases periodically and its polarity alternates periodically, progressively shrinking the hysteresis loop and mutually cancelling magnetic poles until the residual magnetism is eliminated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How does the XHXC110 speed up on-site commissioning for mobile test teams?
Mobile commissioning teams work against tight outage windows across multiple substations. The XHXC110 cuts each demagnetization cycle from 30 minutes to under 4 minutes, and its 5 kg lightweight housing plus two-button operation let a single technician carry, set up, and complete demagnetization quickly. Reusing the existing DC resistance test current leads removes re-wiring steps, so crews finish commissioning faster and move to the next site sooner.
Q2: Can it be integrated into existing DC resistance test workflows on project sites?
Yes. The demagnetizing output terminals directly reuse the current leads already connected for DC resistance measurement, so the XHXC110 slots into your existing test sequence without re-cabling. This is especially valuable for EPC teams commissioning multiple new transformers on a single substation project, where reducing per-unit setup time translates directly into schedule savings.
Q3: Is it suitable for factory acceptance testing of large transformers?
Absolutely. With a demagnetizing effect over 90% per cycle and automatic current stabilization judgment with 16-bit AD acquisition, the XHXC110 delivers repeatable, verifiable results that factory QC departments can document in acceptance reports. Automatic mode runs the full 10A to 200mA sequence unattended, while manual mode supports targeted re-demagnetization of individual phases when residual magnetism is concentrated in one winding.
Q4: What performance can be guaranteed for 330 kV and above large-capacity transformers?
The XHXC110 is optimized for 35 kV and above large power transformers and instrument transformers, with particular strength on 330 kV and above large-capacity units. It achieves over 90% demagnetization per cycle, and for three-phase transformers only phase B needs to be demagnetized to clear the entire core, which simplifies procedures and reduces test time on the highest-voltage assets.
Q5: How do I choose between manual and automatic mode?
Use automatic mode for routine commissioning: the instrument automatically sequences through 10A, 5A, 1A, 500mA, and 200mA until progress reaches 100%, then discharges automatically. Use manual mode when you need to apply a specific current level to a particular phase or when residual magnetism is concentrated in a known winding. The red key cycles between modes and current levels, and the green key confirms and starts the selected operation.
