XHXC105 Transformer Demagnetizer — dedicated equipment for eliminating the residual magnetism left in large power transformers and instrument transformers after DC resistance and voltage ratio tests, protecting them against inrush-current impact and supporting safe commissioning.
Because of the intrinsic hysteresis of ferromagnetic materials, residual magnetism remains in the iron core after operations such as voltage-ratio and DC-resistance measurement on a power transformer. When the transformer is put into operation, this residual magnetism causes the core to saturate for half of each cycle and generates a large number of harmonics in the excitation current. This increases reactive power consumption and may cause relay protection misoperation — so demagnetization must be carried out before the transformer is commissioned.
The XHXC105 adds an automatic demagnetization mode over the previous series (no repeated operation needed), uses a larger LCD module for richer information, and adopts two-key operation: the red key for selection and reset, and the green key for confirmation and start. Demagnetization time has been reduced from 30 minutes to under 4 minutes.
