The XHDP-80M is an 80kV VLF (very low frequency) ultra-low frequency AC hipot tester built on digital variable-frequency technology and single-chip control. Voltage boost, step-down, measurement and protection are fully automated, and the all-electronic design makes the unit compact and lightweight. A large color touchscreen displays the output waveform directly, making 0.1Hz AC withstand voltage testing of 35kV-and-below power cables and motors clear, fast and safe.

Intelligent ProtectionNo manual protection settings needed. The instrument calculates over-voltage and over-current limits from the test object capacitance and test voltage, and reacts to sudden changes in under 20ms to capture discharges.

Typical Field Workflow
Connect the controller, booster(s) and test object following the on-screen wiring diagram, then power on.
Set parameters on the touchscreen: test voltage (0 to rated value) and test time (1 to 99 minutes); the system limits values to the safe range.
Auto boost and test - two pre-test cycles check for low-resistance faults and measure capacitance, then the instrument steps up to the set voltage at the correct frequency with intelligent protection active throughout.
Discharge and report - the unit automatically discharges the test object at stop, and results can be printed or saved; up to 90 test records are stored for later printing.
