Railway and metro traction power cables run long, large-section routes through tunnels, bridges and cross-bonded sections, often terminated at GIS switchgear. The XHSC-60Q was designed for exactly these systems: its 60kV burn-through with up to 400mA arc current converts high-resistance and flashover insulation faults into measurable low-resistance faults, and the 750mA digital bridge and cross-section modes then deliver the fault distance with ±(0.1%·L+1)m accuracy over up to 50km, without dismantling GIS terminations or opening cross-bonding links.

Instead of guessing the fault nature first, the XHSC-60Q runs an automatic intelligent diagnosis at up to 60kV and tells you exactly what to do next. This is how the built-in workflow decides the fastest route to the fault distance:

In burn-through mode the unit outputs up to 60kV with a 400mA arc current to carbonize high-resistance and flashover faults into stable low-resistance faults. With the intelligent burn-through function enabled, the test stops automatically as soon as the fault impedance drops to the level required by the ranging modes, instead of running the full preset time. The bridge accuracy can be verified on site with the supplied bridge test box (33.3% reference line) whenever a suspicious reading appears.
