Optical fiber is an ideal tool for light conduction and light transmission. It can be combined with various types of testing equipment suchas spectrometers, spectrophotometers, temperature probes and cell phone testingfor spectral analysis; it can also be used in high sensitivity measuringinstruments for optical signals and as a light import/export medium forintegrating spheres. Fiber optics are very flexible and can be customized withdifferent transmission wavelengths, branching structures, core diameters,cladding, lengths, output forms and connector types. The quartz double-cladfiber uses quartz as the optical core layer, fluorine-doped quartz as theoptical skin layer, and a resin coating to ensure the strength of the fiber,and an outer jacket if required. The use of fluorine-doped quartz as theoptical skin layer allows the fiber to transmit a wider spectral range and totransmit high power optical energy, which is the main type of fiber we use forphotometric applications.
