Split-type hotel locks, on the other hand, break these functional components down into several independent modules. The core difference lies in the separate placement of the card reader (sensing area) and the handle/lock body. You can think of it as a "separate" smart lock, where each component performs its specific function while working collaboratively.

Simpler appearance: The interior and exterior panels can be very compact, retaining only essential components like the handle. Electronic components such as the card reader can be concealed, making the lock more aesthetically pleasing and modern.
More flexible installation: Because each component is independent, it can adapt to doors of different thicknesses and materials, making it particularly suitable for narrow door frames where large panels cannot be installed.
Easier Upgrades and Maintenance: When a hotel needs to upgrade its access card system (e.g., from IC cards to more secure CPU cards), only the individual card reader module needs to be replaced, eliminating the need to replace the entire lock, significantly reducing upgrade costs and complexity.
More Stable Performance: The highly integrated lock body eliminates complex wiring between the front and rear panels, reducing signal transmission loss and potential points of failure.

Front Handle Assembly: The handle installed on the outside of the door.
Rear Handle Assembly: The handle installed on the inside of the door.
Lock Body: Installed inside the door, containing mechanical structures such as the latch and bolt, it is the actuating component for locking/unlocking.
Card Reader: A module separate from the handle, used to sense room cards (such as Mifare cards).

Low battery reminder: An audible and visual alert is given when the battery is low; it can usually be used to open the door approximately 100 more times, giving the hotel time to replace the battery.
Emergency power supply: Equipped with a hidden external power interface, allowing for emergency unlocking via external power when the battery is completely depleted.
