How to Use Carton Sealing Tape (Transparent Yellow / Beige BOPP Tape)
Surface Preparation – Ensure carton surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease. For best results, seal on smooth corrugated cardboard.
Dispenser Setup – Mount the tape roll (standard 76mm paper core) onto a handheld or tabletop tape dispenser for efficient one-hand operation.
Application – Pull out 5–8cm of tape, press the adhesive side firmly onto the carton seam. Apply light, even pressure along the tape length to activate the pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive.
Sealing Technique – For top and bottom carton flaps, apply tape centered over the seam, extending 5–10cm onto each side of the carton. Rub firmly with fingers or a roller for full adhesion.
Is this tape strong enough for heavy cartons?
Yes, 50–60 micron BOPP tape with acrylic adhesive handles standard e-commerce and shipping cartons up to 15–20kg when properly applied.
What is the tensile strength of 50–60 micron BOPP tape?
Typically 30–45 N/cm (Newtons per centimeter width), offering strong resistance to stretching and breaking.
Does transparent yellow tape yellow over time?
Minimally. High-quality acrylic adhesive resists UV yellowing better than natural rubber adhesives, but prolonged direct sunlight may cause slight darkening after 12+ months.
Can beige tape resist tearing under tension?
Yes. BOPP material provides excellent tear resistance; 50–60 micron thickness balances flexibility and strength.
