I. Product Introduction

1. Overview

The 3XP2260 is the company's newly launched digital stepper motor driver, utilizing the latest 32-bit DSP digital processing technology. The driver's control algorithm incorporates advanced variable current and frequency conversion technologies, ensuring low heat generation, minimal motor vibration, and smooth operation. Users can set subdivision levels between 200 to 51,200 steps, meeting the needs of most applications. With built-in micro-stepping technology, it delivers excellent performance even at low speeds, maintaining stable operation across low, medium, and high-speed ranges with ultra-low noise. The driver integrates an automatic parameter calibration function during power-on, automatically generating optimal operating parameters for different motors to maximize their performance.

3. Introduction of driver interface and wiring

1. Interface description

1) Control signal interface

 Name

 Function

PUL+

Pulse signal: The rising edge of the pulse is valid; PUL is 4.5-28Vdc when high and 0~0.5V when low. In order to reliably respond to the pulse signal, the pulse width should be greater than 1.5μs.

PUL-

DIR+

Directional signal: A high/low level signal. To ensure reliable motor commutation, the direction signal must be established at least 2μs before the pulse signal. The motor's initial direction of operation depends on its wiring configuration. Swapping any phase winding (e.g., A+ or A-) can alter the motor's initial direction. The DIR signal ranges from 4.5-28Vdc when active and 0~0.5V when inactive.

ENA+

Enable Signal: This input signal is used to enable or disable the motor. When ENA+ is connected to 4.5-28Vdc and ENA-is connected to a low level (or internal optocoupler is activated), the driver will cut off the current to all phases of the motor, placing it in a free state where stepping pulses are not triggered. When this function is not required, simply leave the enable signal terminal open.

In order to avoid some accidental actions and deviations, PUL, DIR and ENA should meet certain requirements, as shown in the figure below:




 

Explanatory note :

1) t1: ENA (enable signal) should be set to high at least 5μs before DIR. In general, it is recommended that ENA+ and ENA-be left empty.

2) t2: DIR determines its state high or low at least 2μs before the PUL falling edge.

3) t3: The pulse width is at least 2μs.

4) t4: Low level width is not less than 2μs.
