2B is the most widely used stainless steel finish. The "2" stands for cold rolled, and the "B" stands for bright. It is produced through cold rolling, annealing, pickling, and finished with a light skin pass that creates a smooth, uniform matte surface. Neither a high-gloss mirror nor a rough industrial finish, 2B occupies the ideal middle ground — balancing appearance, formability, and cost.
Recognized as the industry standard for cold-rolled sheets, the 2B finish offers a unique combination of smoothness, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness. Its clean, silvery sheen provides a professional look that resists staining and is easy to maintain. Additionally, its exceptionally smooth surface makes it the ideal substrate for further processing such as polishing or brushing.
The production of 2B begins with hot rolling, followed by annealing and pickling to remove surface oxide. The steel is then cold rolled to the required thickness and annealed again to restore flexibility. After a final pickling, a light skin pass is applied. This final step uses highly polished rollers under controlled pressure to refine the surface, creating the smooth, uniform matte finish that defines 2B stainless steel.

Stainless steel can be magnetic depending on its internal structure. Austenitic grades like 304 and 316 are normally non-magnetic, but ferritic (430) and martensitic (410) grades are magnetic due to their different crystal structure. Even 304 or 316 may become slightly magnetic after cold working such as bending or stamping, which transforms some austenite into martensite. Therefore, magnetism does not indicate quality — it simply reflects the steel's microstructure and processing history.
For standard materials and sizes held in stock, delivery is guaranteed within 3 days of payment receipt. For products requiring custom dimensions or surface finishes, the lead time is 7 to 15 working days after payment confirmation. Specific delivery schedules should be confirmed with customer service at the time of order placement.
A substantial inventory is maintained to ensure prompt delivery. Stock availability varies by material grade and dimensions. To avoid potential delays, please confirm current stock levels with your sales representative prior to placing an order.
Applicable product standards must be specified at the time of order. For projects with specific technical requirements, please provide detailed parameters, tolerance ranges, and other relevant specifications. A dedicated quality inspection department oversees all stages of production to ensure full compliance. Upon completion, accurate measurements, inspection images, video documentation, and material test reports are provided for customer confirmation.

Custom markings on outer packaging are available upon request at no additional cost. Once the marking design is approved, it will be affixed using waterproof tape. If no specific marking is requested, packaging will be shipped without markings by default.
Material grade, dimensions, and other identifying information may be spray-marked directly onto the steel plate surface upon request. For applicable charges, please consult your sales representative.
Standard wooden pallet packaging is provided at no extra cost, with a loading capacity of 1 to 3 tons per pallet. Alternative packaging options, such as iron pallets, are available upon request. Please contact your sales representative for details — bulk orders qualify for preferential pricing.
We maintain partnerships with multiple freight forwarders to offer competitive land, air, and sea freight options. If you have a preferred freight forwarder, we can arrange delivery to your agent's warehouse or to the designated port of shipment.
Factory inspections and product inspections are fully supported. Customers are welcome to visit our facility for in-person inspections. Alternatively, third-party inspection agencies, including SGS, may be arranged to conduct on‑site inspections.
