Advantages

• The high hardness far exceeds that of ordinary steel, allowing it to maintain surface integrity even under high friction conditions.
• Under high stress and friction conditions, it can resist abrasive wear, adhesive wear, and fretting wear.

Application

1. Petrochemical (core application)
Stellite Balls are used for high-pressure ball valves containing solid particles and corrosive media (e.g., acids, alkalis, slurries, crude oil) to ensure long-term sealing and wear resistance.
Cobalt Alloy Balls can be used in drilling equipment, abrasion balls for oil production trees, and check valve balls, and are resistant to high downhole pressure, corrosion, and abrasive wear.
2. Energy and electricity
The sealing ball and check valve ball of steam turbines and boilers are suitable for high-temperature steam and corrosive environments.
Wear-resistant sealing balls for coal chemical, polysilicon, phosphoric acid, and other strong corrosion conditions.
3. Fluid control and general mechanics
Stellite 20 Valve Ball is often used in hard-sealed ball valves in the gas, chemical, and paper industries, precision bearing balls in high-temperature, corrosive environments, and wear balls in metering pumps to ensure accuracy and longevity.
4. Oceans and ships
Sealing balls for marine pumps, seawater desalination equipment, and submarine valves resist seawater corrosion and sediment wear.
5. Other severe working conditions
Mining metallurgy: wear balls and check valve balls for slurry transportation and smelting equipment.
Pharmaceutical and food: wear-resistant sealing balls under strong corrosion and hygienic conditions (need to meet cleanliness requirements).

Process

(1) Select high-purity raw materials and make precise ratios according to the requirements of alloy composition.

(2) Add the raw materials to the vacuum induction furnace to fully homogenize the alloy composition and remove impurities and gases.

(3) Molded into spherical blanks, high-temperature degreasing to remove binders, high-temperature vacuum sintering, to achieve powder metallurgy combination, and obtain dense billets

(4) Solution treatment and aging hardening are carried out to eliminate internal stress and make the hardness reach HRC 53–62.

(5) Turn the spherical outline on the CNC machine tool, and then use the ball mill for precision grinding to control the accuracy and size.

(6) Surface polishing treatment, mirror finish Ra ≤ 0.05 μm, dimensional accuracy up to G5–G10 grade, meeting the requirements of ball valve sealing.

(7) Carry out full-size testing, non-destructive testing, ultrasonic cleaning and anti-rust treatment, qualified factory delivery, and can issue MTC reports for customers.
