Indoor service robots in offices, laboratories and public buildings must move quietly at night without disturbing people nearby. This 5 inch mecanum wheel combines soft 70A PU rollers, 10 roller contact points, precision sealed bearings and a damped hub insert to keep running noise at 55dB or below at 1 m/s.
55dB is measured at 1 m/s travel speed on a smooth epoxy floor with a 100kg payload, background noise below 30dB. Actual noise depends on floor condition, payload and chassis stiffness.
Roller hardness (60A to 85A), color, hub bore, shaft type and logo marking can be customized. Anti-static roller options are available for electronics environments.
Q: Why is the roller count 10 instead of 8?
A: More rollers shorten the gap between contact points, which reduces the vertical bounce that generates noise and vibration.
Q: How should the tread be cleaned?
A: Wipe with a mild detergent solution. High pressure steam cleaning is not recommended.
