As a mid-to-large hardcore off-road NEV SUV (dimensions 4890/4930×1970×1920mm, wheelbase 2800mm), the Formula Leopard 5's front and rear windshields face significant challenges in off-road scenarios. The OEM glass is supplied by FUYAO using laminated safety glass technology, with the front windshield featuring UV protection. In actual use, the front windshield has demonstrated good safety performance—even in extreme cases where the vehicle rolled down a slope, the front glass only showed cracks while the overall frame remained intact with limited damage . However, some owners report that the front windshield's infrared heat rejection is average, and film application is recommended to enhance heat insulation .

Compatible with all BYD Formula Leopard 5 trims (including 2023-2026, Explorer/Navigator/YunNian/Smart Driving versions). This product includes both front and rear windshields with vehicle-specific design, compatible with original mounting contours. High-trim Smart Driving models require front glass compatible with the Huawei Qiankun ADS triple-camera module, which differs from the standard version .

Installation Instructions

Important Safety Note:
Front and rear windshield replacement involves body structure disassembly/reassembly and adhesive curing—must be performed by professional technicians in a dedicated workstation. Do not wash the vehicle or drive at high speed for 24 hours after replacement to ensure adhesive fully cures.

Tools Required:

• Glass removal tools (wire saw/special cutting knife)

• Glass suction cups

• Caulking gun & special polyurethane adhesive

• Sealing rubber

• Cleaning solvent

Installation Steps (General Reference):

1. Remove old glass: Use special tools to remove the damaged windshield from inside the vehicle

2. Clean glass frame: Thoroughly remove old adhesive residue, clean the metal frame

3. Pre-treat new glass: Clean the edges of the new glass, apply glass primer

4. Apply adhesive: Evenly apply special polyurethane adhesive to the glass frame

5. Install new glass: Use suction cups to carefully position and install the new glass

6. Adjust and press: Position the glass correctly, press to ensure full contact with adhesive

7. Curing wait: Keep vehicle stationary—allow adhesive to fully cure (typically 24 hours)

8. Camera calibration (Smart Driving): For models with integrated triple-camera, perform camera calibration after installation

• Distinguish standard vs Smart Driving: Smart Driving front glass features triple-camera mounting—not interchangeable with standard version—confirm vehicle configuration when ordering 

• Do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours after replacement—avoid high-speed driving to prevent impact on curing

• Avoid emergency braking and rapid acceleration within 72 hours after replacement to ensure proper glass fixation

• In winter replacement, pay attention to indoor working temperature to ensure proper adhesive curing
