This product is professionally designed for BYD’s professional personalized brand—the Formula Leopard 5, the brand’s first model, serving as a core body panel installed above the left and right front and rear wheel arches, connecting the front bumper to the doors.

The front fenders also feature rearward-facing side cameras supporting the 360° surround-view system .

Compatible with all BYD Formula Leopard 5 trims (including Explorer/Navigator/YunNian/Smart Driving versions).   Fender Removal Steps

  Step 1: Preparation

  1. Turn the steering wheel fully to the right to access the left fender (fully to the left for the right side) 

  2. Turn off the vehicle and disconnect the 12V battery negative terminal to prevent accidental electrical activation 

  Step 2: Remove Front Bumper Connections

  1. Open the hood and remove screws connecting the bumper to the radiator support frame 

  2. Remove screws connecting the front wheel area to the fender liner and the upward screws connecting to the fender 

  3. Remove the row of screws and clips at the bottom of the front bumper, including the through-screws below the fog light bezels (typically 12mm or 13mm) 

   Step 3: Separate Bumper from Headlight Clips

  1. Do not use a screwdriver to pry headlight area clips—this may damage paint. Gently shake up and down at specific points to release clips 

  2. If the grille is obstructed, remove components behind the decorative trim on both sides 

  Step 4: Remove Fender Mounting Screws

  1. Use a T-25 Torx wrench to remove the four side screws securing the fender 

  2. Use a T-25 Torx wrench to remove the lower screws (typically about 8 screws) 

  3. Carefully pry off the retaining clips on the fender with a flathead screwdriver 

  Step 5: Remove Fender Assembly

  1. Grasp one corner of the fender and gently separate it from the body 

  2. If there are wiring harness connections (such as rearward-facing camera), unplug connectors before complete removal 

  New Fender Installation Steps

  Step 6: Install New Fender

  1. Clean mounting surface: Remove dust and debris for proper fitment

  2. Align and install: Confirm positioning from body reference points, install new fender 

  3. Install screws and clips—pre-tighten all screws first, then torque each after confirming position 

  4. If equipped with camera, connect harness plug and ensure secure connection

  Step 7: Reinstall Surrounding Components

  1. Reinstall front bumper and headlight mounting bolts in reverse order 

  2. Reinstall front wheel liner mounting screws and clips

  3. Torque all bolts to specification

  Step 8: Function Test

  1. Start vehicle—confirm no warning lights illuminate

  2. Check 360° camera system (if equipped with side cameras)—confirm proper image stitching

  3. Check uniform gaps between fender, bumper, door, and headlight

  Professional Tips

  • Always turn wheels fully before removal: Inner fender screws require wheel turned for access 

  • Clip removal technique: Apply force at multiple points to avoid edge damage from over-concentrated pressure 

  • Headlight clip protection: Avoid prying clips near headlights with screwdrivers—shake to release, preventing paint damage 

  • Paint protection: Use protective pads or paper during removal/installation to prevent scratches 

  • Camera transfer: If original front fender has side camera, transfer it to the new fender and verify function

  • Store screws properly: Keep removed screws and clips organized by position to avoid confusion 

  • Torque reference: Front bumper-to-body mounting bolts torque approx. 70 N·m
