This product is professionally designed for BYD’s popular Ocean Series model—the BYD Destroyer 05, serving as a protective cover for the AC slow charging port, installed on the exterior of the vehicle's right-rear charging port—a core protective component for charging safety.

The AC charging port cover is the first physical protective barrier of the Destroyer 05 charging system—when not charging, it covers the 220V AC slow charging port, preventing rainwater, dust, mud, and other external contaminants from entering the charging socket interior, preventing charging faults and safety hazards caused by moisture or contamination. The Destroyer 05 comes standard with AC slow charging across all trims—the 55km version has a slow charging power of approximately 3.3kW with a full charge time of about 5.5 hours; the 120km version also charges in approximately 5.5 hours.

Compatible with all BYD Destroyer 05 models (including 2022-2025, 55KM/120KM range versions, Champion Edition, and Glory Edition). According to the owner's manual and vehicle configuration, the charging port cover is located on the right-rear side of the vehicle—opposite the fuel filler cap.

• The AC charging port cover is a body accessory/consumable part—no fixed replacement cycle under normal conditions, sealing condition inspection during each maintenance is recommended.

• When failure to open/close properly, sealing failure, or body damage occurs, prompt replacement is required to prevent water ingress into the charging port and safety risks.

• Recommended to inspect the charging socket assembly condition simultaneously—address if corrosion or damage is found.

Installation Instructions

Tools Required:

• Plastic trim removal tool

• Phillips screwdriver

• Socket wrench (depending on model)

• Cleaning cloth

 Installation Steps (General Reference):

1. Open the old charging port cover: Unlock the vehicle from inside or press the cover to open

2. Disconnect harness: If equipped with electronic locking, unplug the electrical connector from the back of the cover

3. Remove mounting screws: Remove screws securing the port cover to the body

4. Remove old cover: Carefully remove the old AC charging port cover assembly

5. Compare & confirm: Verify new part matches old in color, mounting hole positions, and connector

6. Install new cover: Position new port cover, pre-tighten mounting screws

7. Connect harness: Reconnect electrical connector (if present)—ensure secure connection

8. Test open/close function: Perform multiple open/close cycles—confirm locking and pop-open function

【Professional Tips】:

• Pay attention to left/right positioning: The charging port cover is on the right-rear side—different from the left-rear fuel filler cap—do not confuse them

• Sealing test is mandatory after replacement: Flush the area with water after closing—confirm no water ingress

• Ensure the locking mechanism is properly aligned during installation—confirm normal locking when closed

• If corrosion or contamination is found inside the charging socket, clean or replace the charging socket simultaneously
