This product is professionally designed for BYD’s professional personalized brand—the Formula Leopard 5, the brand’s first model, serving as a core structural support component connecting the rear bumper assembly to the vehicle frame.
As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive chassis structural parts and modification components, our rear bumper mounting bracket assembly strictly follows OE specifications while also offering high-performance competition-grade options, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-precision, high-strength replacement and upgrade solutions.
The rear bumper mounting bracket is the critical connector between the rear bumper and the frame. The Formula Leopard 5 OEM rear bumper features a split design, secured to the rear frame via dedicated brackets, while also supporting towing anchors and spare tire carrier installation. In high-performance upgrade solutions, brackets use thickened steel or aluminum alloy, bolted directly to the frame for enhanced support.
Compatible with all BYD Formula Leopard 5 trims (including Explorer/Navigator/YunNian/Smart Driving/Flash Charge versions). According to vehicle data, the Formula Leopard 5 measures 4890/4930×1970×1920mm with a kerb weight of 2890kg. This product includes left/right brackets and mounting hardware, with vehicle-specific design for both OEM and competition bumper fitment.
Rear bumper structural support: The bracket is the critical connector between the rear bumper and the frame, securing the bumper to the body and bearing its weight and collision impact loads.
Collision energy transfer: In low-speed collisions, the bracket transfers energy absorbed by the rear bumper to the frame, protecting rear body structure and tailgate.
Sensor carrier: The rear bumper bracket features reserved mounting positions for millimeter-wave radar and lane-change radar—critical for proper driver assistance system function.
Expansion function foundation: The rear bumper bracket also serves as the mounting foundation for towing anchors, spare tire carriers, and other modification accessories—a core structural component of off-road modification.
Tools Required:
Socket wrench (10mm/12mm/14mm)
Torque wrench
Cleaning cloth
Grease (small amount, for anti-seize)
Installation Steps (General Reference) :
Remove OEM rear bumper: Remove the original rear bumper assembly and brackets
Prepare mounting position: Clean rear frame mounting surfaces—check OEM bolt hole conditions
Install left/right brackets: Align brackets with OEM frame holes—insert mounting bolts (Ref. torque M10: 39 N·m)
Install rear bumper: Mount bumper to brackets—pre-tighten mounting bolts
Transfer sensors: Install OEM millimeter-wave radar and lane-change radar to reserved positions—note proper angle and position (improper installation can cause errors)
Tighten all bolts: Torque all bolts to specified values per torque chart
Function test: Start vehicle—confirm no radar/sensor errors and proper tailgate operation
【Professional Tips】:
Pay attention to sensor position and angle—improper installation can cause radar errors.
Recommended to use a torque wrench—ensure bolts are torqued to specifications
Recommended to inspect towing anchor condition when replacing rear bumper brackets—ensure recovery reliability
