The Steering Gear Assembly — commonly referred to as  (zhuǎn xiàng jī), steering rack, or direction machine — is the core component of the vehicle‘s steering system. Mounted transversely between the front suspension subframe, this electromechanical assembly is responsible for converting the rotational motion of the steering wheel into linear motion that steers the front wheels.
