High-Temperature Resistant ASTM A312 TP304 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe for Chemical Industry
ASTM A312 TP304 stainless steel seamless pipe (UNS S30400) is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy produced without a welded seam, formed by piercing and hot extruding a solid billet, then cold drawn to final dimensions. The absence of a weld seam eliminates the heat-affected zone that is often the first site of corrosion failure in welded pipe, making seamless construction preferable for high-pressure and thermal-cycling chemical service. TP304 contains 18–20% chromium and 8–10.5% nickel, and its austenitic structure retains strength and ductility across a wide temperature range. The chromium oxide passive layer provides resistance to oxidizing acids and mildly corrosive media. This pipe is specified under ASTM A312 for use in chemical processing, petrochemical and high-temperature piping systems.

TP304 seamless pipe is used in chemical reactor feed lines, heat exchanger tubing, distillation column piping, steam and condensate lines, pharmaceutical process piping and high-purity gas delivery systems. It is also found in refinery transfer lines and boiler superheater tubes.
No weld seam means no preferential corrosion path. Seamless construction removes the weld bead and heat-affected zone that commonly initiate pitting in welded pipe. Retains strength at elevated temperature. Austenitic structure resists creep and oxidation up to 870°C, suitable for steam and process heating lines. Excellent formability for field bending. Pipe can be cold bent and flared without cracking, reducing fitting count and potential leak points.
The pipe functions as a pressure-containing conduit and thermal barrier, transporting corrosive fluids and high-temperature media while maintaining structural integrity under thermal expansion and internal pressure.
Store horizontally on wooden supports to prevent bowing. Cut with abrasive saw or lathe; bevel ends for welding. Use ER308L filler wire; purge with argon for root pass. Stress relief not required for TP304 below 400°C service. Clean with nitric acid passivation after welding.
Prevent carbon steel contact during storage and fabrication to avoid iron contamination. Avoid chloride-rich media above 60°C, which can cause stress corrosion cracking. Do not use hydrochloric acid cleaners.
Standard sizes ship 15–20 days after deposit. Custom diameters and wall thicknesses add 7–10 days. Ports: Qingdao, Shanghai, Tianjin.
T/T (30% deposit, balance before shipment) or irrevocable L/C at sight.
Hexagonal bundles secured with steel straps, end caps on pipe ends, moisture-proof wrapping, fumigated wooden pallets or crates. Each bundle labeled with grade, size, heat number and length.
Quality claims accepted within 7 working days with batch number and third-party inspection report. Confirmed dimensional or material non-conformity qualifies for replacement or refund. Defects from cutting, welding or field bending are not covered. Technical support provided for welding procedures, heat treatment and corrosion assessment.
