Performance and Applications
Outstanding crosslinking reactivity: Featuring both hydroxymethyl and acryloyl groups, it integrates into copolymerization chains during free radical polymerization and forms extensive covalent crosslinks through self-reaction or reaction with co-system functional groups (e.g., carboxyl, hydroxyl) under heat treatment. This results in major improvements in polymer water resistance, abrasion resistance, mechanical strength, and thermal stability.
Textile applications: Instrumental in producing textile finishing agents for durable press, wash-and-wear resins, and coatings. Confers excellent anti-wrinkle properties, dimensional stability, and easy-care performance to textiles while allowing retention of a soft hand feel.
Adhesives and coatings: Utilized as a crosslinking agent for manufacturing self-crosslinking acrylic emulsions and polyurethane dispersions. Significantly boosts adhesion, resistance to chemicals and staining, and thermal stability in architectural/industrial coatings, composite adhesives, paper treatment chemicals, and leather finishers.
