Integrated Automatic & Manual Powder Coating System for Aluminum Profiles

This powder coating production line is engineered for aluminum profiles with a wide range of sizes, shapes, and structural complexities. It combines automated powder spraying with manual touch-up capability, ensuring stable coating quality while maintaining the flexibility required for customized or irregular components.

The system is designed to deliver consistent film thickness and high-quality surface finishing, even on intricate geometries such as recessed sections, sharp edges, and multi-cavity profiles.


Spray Booth Structure and Materials

The spray booth is fabricated from high-durability PP (polypropylene) material, offering excellent resistance to chemicals, powder adhesion buildup, and long-term operational wear. This ensures easy cleaning, stable performance, and reduced maintenance downtime.

The booth layout is optimized for operator ergonomics and process efficiency, featuring well-organized airflow management, safe working zones, and maintenance-friendly access points. Its structural design supports stable powder containment while maintaining a clean working environment.


Overhead Conveyor System

A fully integrated overhead conveyor system transports workpieces smoothly through each stage of the coating process. This configuration significantly improves floor space utilization while enabling a continuous and controlled production flow.

The conveyor route is engineered to connect all major process stages, including pretreatment, drying, powder application, curing, and cooling. This ensures stable takt time and consistent product handling throughout the entire line.


Manual Loading & Unloading Stations

Loading and unloading operations are carried out at dedicated manual stations equipped with ergonomic lifting and positioning assistance. This allows operators to handle different profile types safely and accurately.

The system provides flexibility for varied production batches, enabling quick changeover between different aluminum profile specifications while maintaining precise hanging alignment for optimal coating results.


System Integration Advantage

By combining automation with manual finishing capability, the production line achieves both high efficiency and high adaptability. Automated spraying ensures consistent base coverage, while manual application guarantees precision in critical areas.

This hybrid design makes the system particularly suitable for architectural aluminum profiles, industrial extrusion parts, and customized metal components requiring premium surface quality.


The Process of Powder Coating Line:
1. Surface Preparation: The first step in the powder coating line is the surface preparation of the aluminum profiles. This stage is essential to ensure proper adhesion of the powder coating. Surface preparation may include cleaning, degreasing, and removing any contaminants from the aluminum surfaces.
2. Pre-Treatment: Following surface preparation, the aluminum profiles undergo pre-treatment to enhance both coating adhesion and corrosion resistance. Pre-treatment methods may include chemical cleaning, phosphating, or chromate conversion coating. These processes condition the aluminum surface for better powder adhesion and improved coating performance.
3. Drying: Once the pre-treatment is completed, the aluminum profiles are passed through drying ovens to remove any remaining moisture from the surface. Dry aluminum surfaces are crucial for proper powder coating adhesion and finish.
4. Powder Coating Application: The dried aluminum profiles are then ready for powder coating application. The powder coating material is electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the aluminum profiles using powder coating guns. The positively charged powder particles are attracted to the grounded aluminum profiles, adhering to the surface uniformly.
5. Powder Curing: After powder coating application, the aluminum profiles are transferred to curing ovens. In the curing ovens, the powder coating undergoes a thermal curing process. The oven's heat causes the powder particles to melt and flow, creating a continuous, smooth coating film. The curing process also chemically cross-links the powder particles, ensuring a durable and hardened finish.
6. Cooling: Following the curing process, the coated aluminum profiles are allowed to cool down. This cooling phase stabilizes the coating and ensures it maintains its properties and appearance.
7. Quality Inspection: After cooling, the coated aluminum profiles undergo a thorough quality inspection. The inspection involves checking the coating thickness, appearance, adhesion, and overall quality to ensure it meets the specified standards.
